Privacy notice

Last updated 23 October 2026.

This notice explains what information PageWeaver handles, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is short because we hold very little.

Who we are

The controller of your information is Sylloge Ltd (company number 17461399, registered office 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX), registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZC256611. You can reach us at hello@pageweaver.studio.

Your writing stays with you

The PageWeaver app stores everything you write in your own browser, on your own device. We never receive your manuscripts, notes, characters, world entries or titles. There is no account and nothing to sync.

The app contacts pageweaver.studio only to check or renew a licence, to resend a licence, to ask for an academic confirmation link, or to open the subscription portal. It sends the licence, or the email address you typed to have a licence resent, and nothing else. It never sends your writing.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from anyone else. Its fonts and pictures are served from this site.

What we hold, and why

  • If you buy a licence: your email address, the type of licence, its dates, and Stripe’s reference for you as a customer. We use them to send your licence, to renew or end a subscription, to resend your licence when you ask, and for our accounts. We keep them while your licence is valid and then for six years, which is how long UK law requires us to keep accounting records. A one-off licence does not expire, so its record is kept while it can be used.
  • If you request academic access: your email address, when your access began and when it runs to, and whether you’re a lecturer. We use them to send your confirmation links, your licence and a reminder before it runs out, and to know when your five years began. When your access ends we delete your email address, and keep for good only a one-way fingerprint of it, which can’t be turned back into the address, with the dates your access began and ended (and whether we withdrew it), so the five-year limit still holds.
  • If you email us: your message and address, for as long as we need them to answer you.
  • If you ask us to add your university: your email address, your university or college, and whether you study or teach there reach us in an email, which we use to decide and to answer you, and keep as we keep any email to us. If we add your university, we keep its web domain (for example, uni.example) so that its addresses are recognised from then on, and the academic access you’re given is kept as above. Nothing else of the request is kept.
  • To stop abuse of the licence service, it counts recent requests from each network address. It keeps a one-way scrambled form of the address, never the address itself, and deletes it within two hours.

Our lawful basis is the contract with you (for a purchase or academic access) and our legal obligations (for accounting records).

Who handles it for us

  • Netlify hosts this website and the licence service, and stores the licence records. Like any web host, it keeps standard request logs for security: your IP address, the time and the page you asked for. Its data processing agreement says its logs are kept online for 90 days, then offline for up to a year.
  • Stripe takes payments. A purchase is sold through Link, Stripe’s checkout (also called Onelink), as the merchant of record: Link collects your payment details, name, billing address and email address itself, to take the payment, work out the tax and send your receipt, and uses them under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. Stripe tells us your email address and the licence you bought, so we can send it.
  • ZeptoMail (Zoho) sends licence and confirmation emails.
  • Zoho Mail handles email to hello@pageweaver.studio.

Some of these companies process information outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires.

Spell check

PageWeaver uses your browser’s built-in spell checker. Chrome’s optional “Enhanced spell check” sends the text you type to Google. It is off unless you turn it on; leave it off if that matters to you.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@pageweaver.studio. If we delete a licence record, the licence already in your browser keeps working, but we can no longer resend or renew it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
